Playlist- j a m m a b l e s

You asked for it, so here it is... a simplified way to listen to a compilation of jammables. Now you can leave this player up while you're cooking some good eats, when you're studying and expanding the brain, at work to impress your coworkers, or to accompany your morning cup of joe. This is going to further enhance your music knowledge, help you find fresh new artists and tunes, AND increase your baller status. Who would have thought so many great things could all come from this little guy?  Happy jamming :)

Summer Heart- Please Stay

Jam: Please Stay
Good to jam when: Strolling through town

Allow me the pleasure of introducing to you the Swedish mastermind, David Alexander, behind Summer Heart from Malmö. While they say he "provides chill dream pop vibes with mellow vocals that still [give] a scintillating increase of your heartbeat," this song is straight-up synthical magic laced with interchangeable, beauty-drenched pulses shooting into the sky on ecstasy and, quite frankly, I love it. Perfect for strolling through town atop those crunchy fall leaves with some sweet shades and a indie outfit (for kicks) to give you that inner feeling that we get so often thinking: "I am such a badass." Give this one a whirl. What do you have to lose?

Gauntlet Hair- I Was Thinking

Jam: I Was Thinking
Good to jam when: Driving

I could not be more excited about a new album than I am for the new Guantlet Hair to be released on the 18th. The group is made up of two guys from Denver, CO by the names of Andy R. and Craig Nice who have been playing together since they were fifteen. It's kind of cool to think that these guys wanted to make it big and started playing together when they were young and here they are now dropping this insanely edgy, new album that is about to blow up the music scene. To put it simply, I'd say the new album is both fresh and daring. Sometimes a bit dark, but enticing enough to have you searching for the direction of the next beat.  Pairs nicely with a gorgeous fall day, preferably with the windows down, while cruising. If ya dig, then you should probably check out "Keep Time" and pre-order their new album while it's hot!

She & Him- The Christmas Waltz

Jam: The Christmas Waltz
Good to jam: For that wintery anticipation

Is it too early to be excited for Christmas?  Not for She & Him.  Usually I am not one to be this stoked on Christmas music, especially during the season of my favorite holiday which is undoubtedly Halloween, but this new She & Him album from Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward has me all jittery with anticipation for the holiday album, "A Very She & Him Christmas" to be dropped on the 24th of October.  Be sure to check out the track list of wintery classics and treat yourself to a free download of their "Christmas Waltz" single off the new album down below.  Now go put on some comfy socks, make yourself a toasty cafĂ© mocha, and get excited for the joyful holiday around the corner that will now fortunately be paired with a unique rendition of some old-timey, holly-jolly tunes!

1) The Christmas Waltz
2) Christmas Day
3) Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
4) I'll Be Home for Christmas
5) Christmas Wish
6) Sleigh Ride 7 Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
7) Silver Bells
8) Baby, It's Cold Outside
9) Blue Christmas
10) Little Saint Nick

Austin City Limits Music Festival Highlights, October 2011

While I've never done a post like this before, I've been going to the ACL music festival in Austin, Texas for the last three years and felt like I have been depriving my music lovers of some awesome pictures of some even awesome-r artists, so I figured I would spread the wealth with a post on the highlights of the festival.  Enjoy!

The Cults had an awesome show!

My man, Theophilus London up close and personal. Rocked it.

Ray Lamontagne. Of course, wonderful.
Secret Sisters

Pretty Lights. So sweaty by the end of this show.

Kanye West closed the show Friday night with ballerina dancers and all.  I felt like I was at the VMA's.

Iron & Wine

Fitz & The Tantrums stole the show with an amazing stage performance. At one point making everyone in the crowd drop down to the floor, calling people out if they weren't participating. This chick has some serious moves.

Love.
Probably one of the coolest pictures I have ever taken. This kid is guaranteed to be a chiller.

Downtown Austin

Arcade Fire closed the festival.

Brother, Dad, and I all exhausted with happy spirits.
Other amazing shows worth mentioning that weren't captured with a picture were Fleet Foxes, Chromeo, My Morning Jacket, Foster the People, Brandi Carlile, Young the Giant, Big Boi, Stevie Wonder, James Blake, Delta Spirit, and probably so many more that I am forgetting.  Check out the full 2011 lineup from ACL here.  If I had to pick shows I was most impressed by out of the insane lineup from this year, I could debate for hours, but I'd have to say Cults, Foster the People, and Young the Giant for the underdogs.  Definitely all worth checking out.  Solid weekend.  Until next year, Austin.
