Das Racist - Rapping 2 U ft. Lakutis

Jam:  Rapping 2 U
Good to jam when:  Needin a chuckle

Recent popular music reviews from places like MTV and BET have been referring to the Brooklyn-based group as "joke rap," but I can't seem to agree when all they are able to spit are "mad rhymes" enough to "blow up like landmines."  I will admit, about half the time the lyrics seem to be drawn at complete random and not every track on the new album "Sit Down, Man" is worth bragging over, but for the most part this crew will get you chuckling over clever rhymes with things most people can refer to like "Scooby-Doo," "Plus your Fruity Loops."  I definitely think Das Racist is a love or hate band for many people mostly due to the lack of complexity in the beats, but I think they find a way to make up for it with the non-stop goofy flow that gets ya gigglin'.  They say white people love them like their Subaru's, but what do you think?  Judge for yourself by downloading their full new album for free here and let me know.  Other jammable tracks are "All Tan Everything" and "hahahaha jk?"

Austra- Lose It

Jam:  Lose It
Good to jam:  After Hours

This Toronto-bred band is onto something.  Possibly one of the few bands out there that's able to depict intense emotion through more than just an electronic pattern and repetition of beats.  The grasping emotion that this trio produces comes mostly from the creative use of drawn out and powerful vocals of the main singer, Katie Stelmanis.  While this chick sang for the Canadian Opera Company in the past, her present ambition is to create "classical music with really fucked up, distorted crazy shit on there" for the future.  While music-lovers anticipate the arrival of her new ambition, I can assure you in the meantime they will be finding several ways to "lose it" to this beat after hours for many nights to come, so get your friends movin' by downloading today's feature and another definite jammable from the band, "The Beat and the Pulse" for free.  Yippeeee!
