Good to jam when: Needin a chuckle
Recent popular music reviews from places like MTV and BET have been referring to the Brooklyn-based group as "joke rap," but I can't seem to agree when all they are able to spit are "mad rhymes" enough to "blow up like landmines." I will admit, about half the time the lyrics seem to be drawn at complete random and not every track on the new album "Sit Down, Man" is worth bragging over, but for the most part this crew will get you chuckling over clever rhymes with things most people can refer to like "Scooby-Doo," "Plus your Fruity Loops." I definitely think Das Racist is a love or hate band for many people mostly due to the lack of complexity in the beats, but I think they find a way to make up for it with the non-stop goofy flow that gets ya gigglin'. They say white people love them like their Subaru's, but what do you think? Judge for yourself by downloading their full new album for free here and let me know.
